Kara Donnelly is the VP of Business Development at Sunstone Partners and is responsible for the overall execution of the firm’s business development strategy, both in sourcing new platforms as well as add-on acquisitions for the current portfolio.

Prior to joining Sunstone Partners in 2021, Kara was the Director of Business Development at Blue Heron Capital, a technology- and healthcare-focused growth equity firm. Before Blue Heron, Kara was an Associate at NewSpring Capital, focused on business development across four distinct investment strategies. Kara began her career in investment banking at Janney Montgomery Scott.

Raised outside of Philadelphia, Kara earned a BS in Economics and a BS in Mathematics from the University of Pittsburgh.
